​Cadet Achievement & Certification Badges

There are many qualification badges available to be earned. They shall be worn on the left sleeve in the order that they are awarded. The first badge is centred immediately above the cuff of the uniform jacket. The second badge awarded is placed immediately to the left of the first badge, to the front of the sleeve. The third badge awarded is placed immediately to the right of the first badge, to the rear of the sleeve. The fourth and fifth badge are placed immediately above badges one and two, forming a second row of badges and they are placed in the same order as the first row. 

A maximum of five Cadet Achievement and Certification Badges may be worn, one per category. ​

​First Aid Badges:

      Emergency First Aid
           
Successfully completed the St. John Ambulance Emergency First Aid course. Placement of the new badge has not yet been stated in the CATO.

Successfully completed the St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid course. Placement of the new badge has not yet been stated in the CATO.


Fitness Badges:​

         Earned the bronze level fitness qualification as identified in CATO 14-18

Earned the silver level fitness qualification as identified in CATO 14-18

Marksmanship Classification Badges:

Marksman: Cadet shall meet the standard on two different targets within a year. Groupings do not need to be fired during the same relay.
             Prerequisites: Each grouping must be within a circle of 3 cm in diameter.

 First Class Marksman: Cadet shall meet the standard on two different targets within a year. Groupings do not need to be fired during the same relay.
            Prerequisites: Each grouping must be within a circle of 2.5 cm in diameter.

 Expert Marksman: Cadet shall meet the standard on two different targets within a year. Groupings do not need to be fired during the same relay.
          Prerequisites: Each grouping must be within a circle of 2 cm in diameter.​

Distinguished Marksman: Cadet shall meet the standard on two different targets within a year. Groupings do not need to be fired during the same relay.
Prerequisites: Each grouping must be within a circle of 1.5 cm in diameter.​



Pilot Badges:

Glider Pilot Wings : Glider Pilot wings - cloth may be worn on jacket as described in CATO 55-04. Metal wings may be worn on the short-              sleeve shirt only as described in CATO 55-04.
Prerequisites:   Must be a qualified Glider Pilot. This badge is issued to qualified Glider Pilots by the Cadet Air Operations Staff at the                        Regional Gliding School, typically at the conclusion of the Glider Pilot Scholarship summer training course.​

Power Pilot Wings: Power Pilot wings - cloth may be worn on jacket as described in CATO 55-04. Metal wings may be worn on the                   short-sleeve shirt only as described in CATO 55-04.
Prerequisites:  Must be a qualified Power Pilot. This badge is issued to qualified Power Pilots by the Cadet Air Operations Staff, typically          at the conclusion of the Power Pilot Scholarship summer training course.​

 Glider Pilot Front Seat: Glider Pilot is qualified to take passengers in the back seat on familiarisation flights (while piloting from the front seat).
 Prerequisites:  Must be a qualified Glider Pilot and meet the requirements as detailed in the Air Cadet Gliding Program Manual, A-CR-CCP-242/PT-                 005. This badge is issued to qualified Glider Pilots by the Cadet Air Operations Staff at the gliding sites or RGS.
